Plans have finalized for our 2010 Beijing to Shanghai road trip, so now is the time to gear up for if you plan to join us. China is without a doubt our best trips of all time. This year we will be doing an All Star team playing the full rules of baseball and will be playing against veteran Chinese teams in Beijing and Shanghai plus some of the lower level college teams that usually don't get to play against foreign teams. And if interest warrants, we'll also do a Hall of Fame team playing goodwill rules against veteran Chinese teams. Offering extensive sightseeing and baseball camaraderie, we are now signing up players for this exciting trip. Don't miss out on our 2011 oriental baseball adventure.
The 2011 Beijing to Shanghai Express Road Trip
Is baseball an all American game? In 1863 a group of homesick American expatriates in Shanghai organized Asia's first baseball or bangqui club. In the 1970's Chinese government propaganda declared "the baseball movement" an important part of Mao Tse-tung's revolutionary sports program since it encouraged "diligent study of Marxism, Leninism and Mao Tse-tung Thought". Historians claim that Chinese authorities praised the game because it taught soldiers how to throw grenades. And you thought it was just catch it, throw it, and hit it!
